It seems quite a lot of activity has been happening at 46 South Welles Street, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania lately. This place has been in the news for years, as a real life Amityville horror type home. Skeptics always doubt any paranormal sightings or stories, but this place is full of mysterious energies – channeled by spirits from beyond the grave.
Several paranormal investigators have braved staying here to record any bumps in the night. What has happened in this particular location dates back to 1860; when this home was actually built by Augustus C. Laning. He lived there until he sold his company 9 years later in 1869.
Since then, numerous reports have mentioned strange noises and even ghostly sightings appearing both indoor and outdoors of this home; which includes scurrying noises across the floor and walls – from one end of the home to the other.
Both the Johnsons and the Bennetts lived in this home and reported numerous demonic paranormal activities especially during the 1970’s.
People have reported feeling ill and depressed being near this home. There have been unbelievable sightings; which includes a phantom ghost man with a young girl, appearing to pass through doorways. Ghastly cries and moans seem to come from the attic high above, people have reported seeing bloody spots appearing on the walls and flooring of the living room.
One witness claims to have seen a daughter who was pushed down the stairs, appearing to hover off the ground afterwards landing on her feet.
The former residents mentioned that on their body there would mysteriously appear scratches, but oddly enough they were in groups of 3's even investigators have reported this. Strange sounds of boots tramping up and down the floors seem to happen on occasion as well.
Another discovery found was a small tin box, behind one of the chimney bricks in the basement. This box had inside of it human molars wrapped with chicken bones placed in the shape of a cross. There are reports of man who suddenly dropped dead in front of the house for no apparent reason during the mid 1800's.
If this wasn’t enough to scare anyone off, the ghosts and/or demons would continue to bombard their residents with some type of torture.
The house from the late 19th century to the mid 20th century was primarily a rental property; however this did not mean that its owners did not encounter any hardships. The house during these times went through 3 sheriff sales, and had 2 confirmed suicides and 4 deaths on its premises.
(Over its 160 year history, this house has been rented more than 50 times). I think it’s safe to say this home is from hell. Maybe the spirits are enraged from the location where the home sits or it maybe at one point in time was a sacrificial type place.
These paranormal investigators documented their stay on Feb.14th, 2014.
