Perhaps the name rings a bell; it is a small creature which has appeared in various spots around the world. It is called a Chupacabra, this small bipedal beast feeds upon animals draining their blood much like a vampire. The first reported attacks occurred in Puerto Rico in 1995.
The name comes from chupar “to suck” and cabra “goat”, literally “goat sucker”. These fearsome menaces have preyed upon many farmers livestock reaching into the southern part of the United States. In Russia, they have been reported as well.
Recently, a sighting of what appears to be a wolf-like dog was seen at Doliver Point in Texas. They believe this is the mythical chupacabra beast.
The animal which appears in the photograph was determined to be the side effect of the interbreeding – which has happened from the resident’s pets (according to Houston animal control expert Claude Griffin). Houston animal control officials said they have heard of people trying to breed dogs which resemble the dire wolves from the TV series Game of Thrones.
Claude said: “People are actually inbreeding the animals and letting them go and claiming that they’re catching them,” “They are practicing the perfection of in-breeding.”
Several residents claim to have seen giant footprints running alongside the Buffalo Bayou. Photos have been taken showing these extraordinary footprints.
Scott Black and David McKee, who live in the area, took photos of what they believe as the chupacabra in their backyards, and are convinced of what they have actually had seen.
There are some inconsistencies of what this beastly creature looks like. These sightings in the state of Texas seem to be something else entirely which were discovered recently, based upon other reported sightings.
There are a number of drawings describing the chupacabra as slightly more humanoid and even having bat like facial features. The most common description of the chupacabra is that of a reptile-like creature, appearing to have leathery or scaly greenish-gray skin and sharp spines or quills running down its back. The actual size of the chupacabra is approximately 3 to 4 feet (1 to 1.2 m) high, and stands and hops in a fashion similar to that of a kangaroo.
