Sometimes I wonder where all these doom and gloom conspiracy theorists come from? They seem to come out of the wood-work anytime there is any sort of economic calamity, political impasse moment in geopolitics, a major even caused by Mother Nature, or even a minor event these days it seems. A heat wave that lasts only 4-days even - it's like; "See we told you so, Global Warming is going to fry mankind like a bunch of crispy critters on a hot skillet for brunch!"
Not long ago, someone contacted our Think Tank and told me that the "sky was falling" - this time it would be the end of days, Armageddon (no not LA's Carmeggedon, which ended with no major problems), and apocalypse. He concocted a story that goes (sorry I do not recall his exact wording, but you get the idea) something like this; "I believe the earth's orbit around the sun is destabilizing, and my proof is backed by scientific references. I appreciate your opinion, but it is just that, your opinion, and I respectfully disagree with you, sir."
Okay so, he says he has 'scientific references' now, that's interesting because, I have never heard of this, and he says, that anyone who disagrees with him is naive and anything they say is only opinion? Well, it sure does sound like another Global Warming Alarmist to me, except this time he is claiming that we are falling into the Sun. Not only is the sky falling, we are falling with it, and it's all over he says, we are all going to perish, end of story, God's Wrath cometh I guess is the moral of the story here?
Indeed I'd like to remind everyone that every single apocalyptic fortuneteller has been wrong so far? After all, we are still here today, and everything seems to be fine, each morning the sun comes up, we spin around, and there it is again. We also know from the fossil record that the Earth has been going around the Sun for hundreds of millions of years, and the geological record indicates that the Earth has been going around the sun for 5.5 billion years or more. It seems rather highly unlikely that it's all going to stop tomorrow, or any time in the near future.
Yes, the Earth is still going around the Sun, and before that the Sun was going around me Earth, but thankfully Galileo, and Copernicus set the record straight. Nevertheless, sometimes we should hold a mirror up to those who speak of doom-and-gloomers and the end of times. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.
