The other day Huff Post dished up a scoop of good old fashion Lizard Man of South Carolina lore. As described in the article the Lizard Man “stands 7 feet tall with glowing red eyes, a scaly body and three-fingered hands, and has a nasty habit of biting, ripping and pulling apart car fenders, hood ornaments and radio antennas.”
Over the last couple decades, reports of a large strange creature and brutal vehicular destruction have been linked as being related. Supposedly the legend really started gathering steam when a local boy was attacked by the lizard man back in 1988.
The 17-year-old eyewitness was attacked after fixing a flat tire on his truck. The creature came running at this truck and had “red eyes and three-fingered hands”. As he sped away, it jumped into his truck bed, climbed on to the roof and peered down at him through the windshield. Luckily he swerved the vehicle enough to throw the creature off the truck.
